Lecture:
This week’s lecture was continuing on with strategies in incorporating ICT into the classroom. Five areas that we explored which are essential when using ICT with students:
Defining: Discrete skills students will need to undertake.
Locating: Where can i get information? Look for possible sites and sources.
Selecting: Why does it matter? -Access usefulness of each source/site. -Use key words to locate potentially important information. – Identify bias.
Presenting: How can I present this information?- Consider nature of the audience for presentation.
Assessing: Determining where students are at.
These five areas are essential when planning to use any Information Technology within the classroom.
Tutorial:
This week’s tutorial looked at Spreadsheets. What another fantastic presentation! I learnt so much again from the presentations. Spreadsheets is a table which displays numbers in rows and columns. They have a variety of purposes including charting and graphing.
Excel is an electronic spreadsheet program that can be used to store, organise and manipulate data. This is a fantastic program that could benefit teachers when recording report information and also for students when graphing.
